Privacy Policy

For Lost City of Bardo · Effective 3 September 2026

1. Introduction

Lost City of Bardo is a game developed and published by Greenlite Technologies. Your privacy matters to us, and we have built the game so that it needs to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains how information is handled when you play.

2. What the game collects

Lost City of Bardo does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to us. The game does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifying detail. It does not include analytics or advertising SDKs, and it does not track your behaviour for marketing.

3. Saved games and local data

Your progress — saves, task state, achievements earned, inventory and settings — is written to your own computer. On Steam, if Steam Cloud is enabled for your account, Steam may synchronise those files between your devices. On iPhone and iPad they stay in the app's own storage, and are included in your device backups if you use them. We do not read them in either case.

4. The Steam version: Steam features and Valve

The Steam version of the game uses Steam platform features: Steam Achievements, Steam Leaderboards, Steam Stats and Steam in-app purchases. When you use these features, the Steam client and Valve Corporation handle the associated data — for example your Steam ID, your achievement progress, your leaderboard scores and your purchase records.

That processing is carried out by Valve under Valve's own privacy policy, not by us. We can see aggregated, anonymised statistics through the Steamworks developer tools (for example how many players unlocked a given achievement, or the scores on a public leaderboard), but we do not receive your name, email address, payment details or any other directly identifying information from Valve.

You can read Valve's policy at store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement, and manage what your Steam profile shares in your Steam privacy settings.

5. The App Store version: Apple

The version on the App Store runs on iPhone and iPad and does not use Steam at all. It collects nothing either — Apple's own listing for Lost City of Bardo records Data Not Collected.

Downloads, updates and in-app purchases there are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. From App Store Connect we receive only anonymised, aggregated sales and download reports — never your name, Apple Account, email address or payment details.

6. Purchases

The game is free to play and offers optional in-app purchases, such as the Save Sword Inventory item. Payments are processed entirely by whichever store you bought from — Valve on Steam, Apple on the App Store. We never see or handle your payment card, billing address or any other financial information.

7. Third-party services

Apart from the Steam and Apple platforms described above, the game does not integrate any third-party service that collects personal data. Neither version contains analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.

8. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, no such data is held.

9. Platform availability

Lost City of Bardo is distributed on Steam for Windows and macOS, and on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. Previously released Android versions have been retired and are no longer distributed or supported. This policy covers every version of the game.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
